The International Greek New Testament Project (IGNTP) has traditionally used the Textus Receptus as a collating base. A fixed base was essential in an apparatus constructed manually. The digital edition offers more flexibility. As early as the 1997 San Francisco meeting of the SBL, the IGNTP was considering different options.
