Atomic Simulations of (8,0)CNT-Graphene by SCC-DFTB Algorithm

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Self-consistent density functional tight binding (SCC-DFTB) approaches were used to study optimized structures, energy, differential charge density, and Mülliken populations for the (8,0) carbon nanotubes (CNTs) connected to the graphene having different

Texture sprites

open access: yesProceedings of the 2005 symposium on Interactive 3D graphics and games, 2005
We present a new interactive method to texture complex geometries at very high resolution, while using little memory and without the need for a global planar parameterization. We rely on small texture elements, the texture sprites, locally splatted onto the surface to define a composite texture.

Spatial Arrangement in Texture Discrimination and Texture Segregation [PDF]

open access: yesi-Perception, 2013
We investigated the role of spatial arrangement of texture elements in three psychophysical experiments on texture discrimination and texture segregation. In our stimuli, oriented Gabor elements formed an iso-oriented and a randomly oriented texture region.

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Robust Adaptive Median Binary Pattern for noisy texture classification and retrieval

open access: yes, 2018
Texture is an important cue for different computer vision tasks and applications. Local Binary Pattern (LBP) is considered one of the best yet efficient texture descriptors. However, LBP has some notable limitations, mostly the sensitivity to noise.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Texture measurement on gutted cod during storage in ice using a hand-held instrument [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Fish muscle as food is to be seen as highly perishable. In unfrozen fish, freshness is considered the most important quality attribute. It is well known that there are several biochemical changes that can affect dramatically the texture of fish muscle ...
