O(4) texture with a cosmological constant [PDF]

open access: greenPhysical Review D, 2002
We investigate O(4) textures in a background with a positive cosmological constant. We find static solutions which co-move with the expanding background. There exists a solution in which the scalar field is regular at the horizon. This solution has a noninteger winding number smaller than one.

Hybrid textures of neutrino mass matrix under the lamppost of latest neutrino and cosmology data [PDF]

open access: greenInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2016
In this paper, we study all possible neutrino mass matrices with one zero element and two equal nonzero elements, known as hybrid texture neutrino mass matrices. In the diagonal charged lepton basis, we consider 39 such possible cases which are consistent with the latest neutrino data. Using the two constraints on neutrino mass matrix elements imposed

NEUTRINO MASSES, COSMOLOGICAL BOUND AND FOUR ZERO YUKAWA TEXTURES [PDF]

open access: greenModern Physics Letters A, 2011
Four zero neutrino Yukawa textures in a specified weak basis, combined with μτ symmetry and type-I seesaw, yield a highly constrained and predictive scheme. Two alternately viable 3×3 light neutrino Majorana mass matrices mνA/mνBresult with inverted/normal mass ordering.

Cosmological texture is incompatible with Planck-scale physics [PDF]

open access: green, 1992
Nambu-Goldstone modes are sensitive to the effects of physics at energies comparable to the scale of spontaneous symmetry breaking. We show that as a consequence of this the global texture proposal for structure formation requires rather severe assumptions about the nature of physics at the Planck scale.

The isotropisation of cosmological textures

open access: closedPhysics Letters B, 1993
Abstract Cosmological textures are known from numerical experiments to isotropise as they collapse. This article studies general energy configurations having the same form of energy density as do textures. Straightforward arguments based on an extension of Derrick's theorem lead to the conclusion that textures isotropise because they lose energy in ...

A hydrodynamic approach to cosmology - Texture-seeded cold dark matter and hot dark matter cosmogonies

open access: closedThe Astrophysical Journal, 1991
Hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy formation in a texture-seeded cosmology are presented, with attention given to Omega = 1 galaxies dominated by both hot dark matter (HDM) and cold dark matter (CDM). The simulations include both gravitational and hydrodynamical physics with a detailed treatment of collisional and radiative thermal processes, and use
