Investigation of the annealing texture evolution in hafnium
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 1998This article presents a study of the evolution of the annealing texture in hafnium, as measured by electron backscattering diffraction patterns (EBSPs). It was found that the annealing texture of asreceived extruded rod depended on the annealing temperature. After low-temperature recrystallization, the deformation axis was parallel to

The Evolution of the Goss Texture in Silicon Steel
Scripta Materialia, 1998The Goss orientation, {l_brace}110{r_brace} , in about 3% silicon steel has been the subject of speculation from the scientific and technological points of view. The Goss texture, which is not stable with respect to plane strain deformation, rotates toward the {l_brace}111{r_brace} orientation. The Relaxed Constraints (RC) Taylor model, in which shear

The evolution of surface texture in automotive coatings
Journal of Coatings Technology and Research, 2011The curing behavior and texture development of automotive clearcoats was studied by noncontacting profilometry and dynamic viscosity measurements during solvent evaporation and thermal curing. The changing surface texture was shown to be a strong function of temperature and solvent content. Leveling occurred during the initial heating of the clearcoats,

Evolution of crystallographic texture in thin wires
Journal of Applied Crystallography, 1992An X-ray diffraction procedure has been developed to measure accurately the textures of thin wires so that the texture variation across the wire radius may be obtained. Since X-rays penetrate no further than the surface of most metals, X-ray examination can be considered to be superficial for large wires but by thinning the wire it is possible to ...

Texture evolution in adsorbed monoatomic layers
Physica E: Low-dimensional Systems and Nanostructures, 2004Abstract The evolution of a monoatomic layer, deposited on a substrate, is described by a dynamical model of the reaction-diffusion type. This model takes into account the possible coexistence of two types of gains with different orientations with respect to the substrate. It combines reaction (adsorption and desorption) and nonlinear diffusion terms,

The evolution of texture and layering in layered intrusions
International Geology Review, 2010Mineral segregation in igneous systems, and igneous layering in particular, can occur during ageing of crystal assemblages because areas composed of nominally larger grains or texturally favoured regions grow at the expense of adjacent unfavoured regions owing to the concentration gradients in the liquid that arise from surface energy effects ...

Evolution of recrystallization textures in an aluminum alloy
The theory for the evolution of recrystallization textures has, however been controversial. There are two rival hypotheses to explain the evolution of recrystallization textures, one is the oriented nucleation hypothesis and the other is the oriented growth hypothesis.Kishore T. Recrystallization Texture Evolution in HSLA Steel
2018The role of ferrite and pearlite constituent phases on the recrystallization texture of an HSLA steel is addressed. For the purpose of monitoring the microstructure and texture evolution, two different starting hot bands obtained after hot rolling above and below the Tnr are considered.

Macroscopic theory of evolution of deformation textures
International Journal of Plasticity, 1992This paper contains the derivation of a new equation for the orientation distribution function (texture evolution) in metallic polycrystals undergoing large plastic deformations in the range of low temperatures. In contrast to other theories, the equation proposed in this paper is hyperbolic.
