Hydroflux Access to Hydroxide‐Free Yttrium Oxovanadate and Arsenite Layers: K6[Y(VO4)3]·2H2O, K6[Y(VO4)3], and Na3[Y(AsO3)2]

Strongly alkaline hydroflux media commonly yield hydroxide‐rich rare‐earth compounds. In contrast, K6[Y(VO4)3]·2H2O, its anhydrate K6[Y(VO4)3], and Na3[Y(AsO3)2] show that the low activity of water in the medium can favorcondensation into extended hydroxide‐free Y─O─V and Y─O─As networks instead of isolated hydroxo complexes.
