Rewriting Tumor Immunity With Bacterial Membrane Vesicles: A Versatile and Potent Therapeutic Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Bacterial membrane vesicles (BMVs) emerge as promising platforms for cancer immunotherapy owing to their intrinsic adjuvant properties and tunable cargo delivery capabilities. Their ability to modulate the tumor microenvironment, enhance antitumor immune responses, and support personalized therapeutic strategies highlights their growing potential as ...

Ursolic Acid Alleviates Orchitis via Modulating Ferroptosis in Peritubular Myoid Cells of Testis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Ursolic acid modulates key ferroptosis‐related pathways in the peritubular myoid cells of the testis in forest musk deer. ABSTRACT Chronic stress adversely affects reproductive health, increasing susceptibility to pathologies such as orchitis. Additionally, the maintenance of iron homeostasis is essential for preserving the function of the testicles ...

Leveraging TFR-BERT for ICD Diagnoses Ranking

open access: yes, 2023
This work describes applying a transformer-based ranking solution to the specific problem of ordering ICD diagnoses codes. Taking advantage of the TFR-BERT framework and adapting it to the biomedical context using pre-trained and publicly available language representation models, namely BioBERT, BlueBERT and ClinicalBERT (Bio + Discharge Summary BERT ...

Interleukin‐2 Deprived State of Regulatory T cells and Their Recovery by Low‐Dose Interleukin‐2 in Patients With Inflammatory Myopathies

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Regeneration and expansion of Treg by low‐dose interleukin‐2 (IL‐2) therapy is considered a potential treatment strategy for a wide range of autoimmune diseases. To provide a pathophysiologically‐based rationale for low‐dose IL‐2 therapy, we investigated whether reversible defects in the Treg–IL‐2 axis emerge in inflammatory myopathies ...

Canine parvovirus-like particles, a novel nanomaterial for tumor targeting

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology, 2006
Specific targeting of tumor cells is an important goal for the design of nanotherapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Recently, viruses have been explored as nano-containers for specific targeting applications, however these systems typically require ...

Mixed lineage kinase 3 mediates SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury via the Hsp70‐IL‐17A axis

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Kidney samples from patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2) showed upregulated expression and activity of Mixed Lineage Kinase (MLK3). Based on the mechanistic studies, we identified MLK3 as a critical player in promoting SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury.

Convergence of Low‐Fertility Policies Beyond Policy Transfer: A Comparative Analysis of Korea and Hungary

open access: yesPublic Administration and Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study compares policy responses to persistent low fertility in Korea and Hungary, two countries facing similar demographic pressures but embedded in distinct institutional settings. It asks whether the diffusion of pronatalist policies has produced convergence in the design, implementation, and effects of fertility policy in these cases ...
