A Land-Based Thalassia testudinum Nursery Near Tampa Bay, Florida

open access: yesGulf of Mexico Science, 2009
An experimental, land-based seagrass nursery, built near Tampa Bay, FL, produced cultivars of Thalassia testudinum Banks and Solander ex König (turtle grass). Re-modeling of foliar membrane lipids in a seagrass allows for growth in phosphorus-deplete conditions.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
In this study, we used liquid chromatography high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry to analyze the lipidome of turtlegrass (Thalassia testudinum) leaves with either extremely high phosphorus content or extremely low phosphorus content.

Characterization of the Mycobiome of the Seagrass, Zostera marina, Reveals Putative Associations With Marine Chytrids. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Seagrasses are globally distributed marine flowering plants that are foundation species in coastal ecosystems. Seagrass beds play essential roles as habitats and hatcheries, in nutrient cycling, and in protecting the coastline from erosion. Although many

Habitat Configuration Alters Herbivory across the Tropical Seascape [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
There exists increasing evidence that top-down ecological processes, such as herbivory are key in controlling marine ecosystems and their community structure. Herbivory has the potential to be altered by numerous environmental and ecological factors that
