Influence of Different Host Plants on the Sporulation of Thanatephorus cucumeris Anastomosis Group 3
Phytopathology®Thanatephorus cucumeris anastomosis subgroup 3-TB (AG-3-TB) is the primary pathogen causing tobacco target spot disease, which has resulted in substantial economic losses in tobacco production worldwide. Traditionally, soilborne sclerotia have been considered to be the main primary infection source, whereas the role of airborne basidiospores has long ...

Infection and Development of Target Spot of Flue-Cured Tobacco Caused by Thanatephorus cucumeris
Plant Disease, 1990The effects of misting frequency and temperature regime on basidiospore infection and lesion development of target spot of tobacco were determined. Three isolates of Thanatephorus cucumeris (Rhizoctonia solani AG-2-2) produced hymenia and basidiospores equally when exposed to moderate temperatures and extended periods of high relative humidity. Optimum
