Web blight (Thanatephorus cucumeris): a new disease on leaves of okra plants [PDF]

open access: yesArquivos Do Instituto Biologico, 2018
: In an experiment on organic production of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) that was carried out from September 2013 to January 2014, in Manaus, Amazonas state, Brazil, we observed large chlorotic, necrotic, helical, discontinuous, dark or ...

Effect of disease severity on the structure and diversity of the phyllosphere microbial community in tobacco [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
Tobacco target spot is a serious fungal disease and it is important to study the similarities and differences between fungal and bacterial community under different disease severities to provide guidance for the biological control of tobacco target spot.

Mechanism of the generation of new somatic compatibility groups within Thanatephorus cucumeris (Rhizoctonia solani). [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobes Environ, 2013
Single-basidiospore isolates (SBIs) were obtained from field isolates of Thanatephorus cucumeris (Rhizoctonia solani) AG-1 IC and AG-2-2 IV. Formation of distinctive tufts, a recognized feature of heterokaryon synthesis, was observed, and isolates derived from hyphal-tipped tuft hyphae were obtained following pairings between various strains.

Habitat Disturbance Promotes Shifts in the Abundance of Major Fungal Phyla in the Roots of a Native Orchid, Tipularia discolor. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Environ Interact
ABSTRACT Orchids are a widely distributed group of flowering plants with important roles in ecosystems around the globe. However, many species are in decline due, in part, to human‐driven changes in their habitat. It is well established that orchids are reliant on specific groups of mycorrhizal fungi for growth and reproduction and that these fungi can

Mutation in Thanatephorus Cucumeris [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Biological Sciences, 1967
Fertile, homothallic, homokaryotic cultures selected from the progeny of two field isolates were used to study the occurrence and significance of mutants in Thanatephoru8 cucumeris (Frank) Donk. Mutations in the crucifer stem· attacking isolate occurred spontaneously and were also induced by ultraviolet irradiation. Six of the mutants showing stability
