Virtual synchronous-machine control of voltage-source converters in a low-voltage microgrid [PDF]
In order to facilitate the further integration of distributed renewable generation into existing power systems, enhanced control schemes for grid-tied power electronic converters are necessary to ensure non-synchronous power sources can provide power and

In the steel industry, electric arc furnaces (EAFs) are essential for metal scrap recycling. However, they are known for their high reactive power consumption, negatively impacting power quality (PQ). The static VAR compensator (SVC) is the reactive power compensation device that provides the best cost‐benefit relation for mitigating the impact of EAFs.

Grid Parameter estimation using Model Predictive Direct Power Control [PDF]
This paper presents a novel Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FS-MPC) approach for grid-connected converters. The control performance of such converters may get largely affected by variations in the supply impedance, especially for systems ...

This article proposes a new identical bipolar buck‐boost AC‐AC converter with integrated coupled inductors. It possesses all the critical features of a bipolar buck‐boost topology, providing both in‐phase and anti‐phase output voltages. Compared to its counterparts, a high boost factor is achieved without large duty ratios due to using magnetic ...

Application of a three‐phase unified power quality conditioner in a microgrid
The UPQC system designed in this study used a series inverter to compensate the voltage balance sag–swell component, providing a stable voltage for the back‐end load. When the load was unbalanced, the feeder current was unbalanced. The shunt inverter compensated for the unbalanced current balanced the feeder current to improve power quality.

Evaluation and testing of advanced low-voltage power supplies [PDF]
A distinguishing feature of the LHC detectors is the enormous number of front end electronics channels in all the sub-detectors. Low voltage power supply systems in the range of multi kilowatts are required to bias such electronics.
