Oxygen exchange between NO gas and adsorbed atomic oxygen on Pt(335)

Surface Science, 1999
Abstract We have used temperature-programmed desorption with isotopically labeled gases to study O exchange between gas phase NO and adsorbed atomic O on Pt(335). We find two distinct types of adsorbed O, one of which exchanges at least 40 times faster than the other, at room temperature.

Studies of molecular oxygen adsorbed on Cu surfaces

Surface Science, 1986
Molecular oxygen adsorbed on (110) and polycrystalline Cu surfaces has been investigated by UPS, XPS, AES, HREELS and LEED. Molecularly adsorbed $O_2$ on the (110) surface shows the characteristic three-peak HeII spectrum due to $\pi_g$, $\pi_u$ and $\sigma_g$ orbitals, accompanied by an O-O stretching frequency at 660 $cm^{-1}$. On the polycrystalline

Robust oxygen adsorbent mediated oxygen redox reactions for high performance lithium-oxygen battery

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science
Lithium-oxygen batteries (LOBs) have been widely studied because of their ultra-high energy density (∼3500 Wh kg-1). However, the reversibility and stability of LOBs are greatly limited by the sluggish kinetics of oxygen reduction/evolution reactions (ORR/OER) and severely parasitic reactions on oxygen electrodes. Electrolyte in LOBs plays an important

Surface-Adsorbed Oxygen-Triggered Luminescence-Guided Defect Engineering of Oxygen Vacancy

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces
Oxygen vacancies (Ov) in metal oxide-based materials can regulate their surface chemical and electronic properties, and thus the amount of Ov is crucial to exert their photo-, electro-, and thermocatalytic performances. Defect engineering has been introduced to prepare metal oxide-based materials with sufficient Ov.
