ABOUT THE TRANSCRIPTIONS OF ETHNONYM TURK IN THE ANCIENT CHINESE WRITTEN SOURCES
The article, based on Chinese sources and literature, examines Chinese hieroglyphic transcriptions of the ethnonym Turk from different eras. It has been established that the earliest transcription of the ethnonym Turk was the hieroglyph tiek (modern cht. di), the appearance of which dates back to the beginning of the second millennium.
