Cretaceous Rifting in the geological history of the Ukrainian Sector of the Black Sea
Within the Ukrainian sector of the Black Sea, the Albian-Cenomanian rift faults formed three large rift basins, which consisted of a system of grabens and half-grabens. One of the sublatitude rift basins occupied the modern Karkinit Trough, Krylov-Zmiiny

Dynamical Friction and the Evolution of Supermassive Black Hole Binaries: The Final Hundred-parsec Problem [PDF]
Abstract The supermassive black holes originally in the nuclei of two merging galaxies will form a binary in the remnant core. The early evolution of the massive binary is driven by dynamical friction before the binary becomes “hard” and eventually reaches coalescence through gravitational-wave emission.

Formation of intermediate-mass black holes in circumnuclear regions of galaxies [PDF]
Recent high-resolution X-ray imaging studies have discovered possible candidates of intermediate-mass black holes with masses of $M_\bullet \sim 10^{2-4} \MO$ in circumnuclear regions of many (disk) galaxies.

ESTIMATING BLACK HOLE MASSES IN HUNDREDS OF QUASARS [PDF]
We explore the practical feasibility of active galactic nucleus (AGN) broadband reverberation mapping and present first results. We lay out and apply a rigorous approach for the stochastic reverberation mapping of unevenly sampled multi-broadband flux ...

A practical multirobot localization system [PDF]
We present a fast and precise vision-based software intended for multiple robot localization. The core component of the software is a novel and efficient algorithm for black and white pattern detection.

Black hole mergers from quadruples [PDF]
With the hundreds of merging binary black hole (BH) signals expected to be detected by LIGO/Virgo, LISA and other instruments in the next few years, the modeling of astrophysical channels that lead to the formation of compact-object binaries has become ...
