Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

The classification of the single traveling wave solutions to (1+1) $(1+1)$ dimensional Gardner equation with variable coefficients

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
In this paper the classification of single traveling wave solutions of (1+1) $(1+1)$ dimensional Gardner equation with variable coefficients is obtained by applying the complete discrimination system to the polynomial and trial equation methods.

IAR‐Net: Tabular Deep Learning Model for Interventionalist's Action Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents IAR‐Net, a deep‐learning framework for catheterization action recognition. To ensure optimality, this study quantifies interoperator similarities and differences using statistical tests, evaluates the distribution fidelity of synthetic data produced by six generative models, and benchmarks multiple deep‐learning models.

Structural approach to unambiguous discrimination of two mixed quantum states

open access: yes, 2009
We analyze the optimal unambiguous discrimination of two arbitrary mixed quantum states. We show that the optimal measurement is unique and we present this optimal measurement for the case where the rank of the density operator of one of the states is at

Sparse multinomial kernel discriminant analysis (sMKDA) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Dimensionality reduction via canonical variate analysis (CVA) is important for pattern recognition and has been extended variously to permit more flexibility, e.g. by "kernelizing" the formulation.

Wave patterns of (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin chains in the semiclassical limit

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
A special kind of nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) with conformable fractional derivative is considered. And via the complete discrimination system for polynomial method, all the single traveling wave solutions are presented, especially the soliton ...
