Application of the HN method to the critical slab problem for reflecting boundary conditions

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2004
Abstract The recently developed H N method is used to solve the critical slab problem for a slab which is surrounded by a reflector. In the special case for R =0 (the reflection coefficient) the problem reduces to the one under vacuum boundary conditions. It is shown that the method is concise and leads to fast converging numerical results. The

On the Critical Reactor Problem for a Reflected Slab

Nuclear Science and Engineering, 1975

The slab albedo and criticality problem for the quadratic scattering kernel with the HN method

Kerntechnik, 2008
Abstract The one speed, time independent neutron transport equation for slab geometry with quadratic anisotropic scattering kernel is considered. Albedo, transmission factor and criticality thickness are calculated by the HN method. The numerical results obtained are listed for different selected parameters.

The singular eigenfunction method: the critical slab problem for linearly anisotropic scattering

Kerntechnik, 2005
Abstract The critical slab problem for linearly anisotropic scattering is investigated using the singular eigenfunction method. The third form of the transport equation is considered. The singular eigenfunctions for linearly anisotropic scattering are inserted into the Green's function.

U[sub N] Method For The Critical Slab Problem In One-Speed Neutron Transport Theory

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008
The Chebyshev polynomial approximation (UN method) is used to solve the critical slab problem in one‐speed neutron transport theory using Marshak boundary condition. The isotropic scattering kernel with the combination of forward and backward scattering is chosen for the neutrons in a uniform finite slab. Numerical results obtained by the UN method are

The critical slab problem for pure-triplet anisotropic scattering by singular eigenfunction method

Kerntechnik, 2017
Abstract The infinite medium Green function can be written by using the jump condition, found Case's eigenfunctions. Thus, any reactor theory problem which is inplane geometry such the criticality problem as can be investigated by using the proper boundary conditions and suggested flux definitions.

The FN method for anisotropic scattering in neutron transport theory: The critical slab problem

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1996
Abstract The F N method which has been applied to many physical problems for isotropic and anisotropic scattering in neutron transport theory is extended for problems for extremely anisotropic scattering. This method depends on the Placzek lemma and the use of the infinite medium Green's function.

The FN method for solving the critical problem for a slab with a finite reflector

Annals of Nuclear Energy, 1980
Abstract The F N method is used to solve the critical problem for a slab reactor with a finite reflector. Numerical results for the critical thickness are shown for different values of the mean number of secondary neutrons per collision and reflector thickness using various orders of the F N approximation.
