Association Between Symptomatic Knee Osteoarthritis and Target Glycemic Control in Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Knee osteoarthritis (OA) commonly affects individuals with Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and is associated with increased risk of diabetes‐related complications. To better understand potential mechanisms, we examined the association between symptomatic knee OA and glycemic control in individuals with T2DM.

Addressing Economic Insecurities Can Improve Patient‐Reported Outcomes in Lupus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background Economic insecurities, such as food, housing, transportation, and financial challenges, are modifiable risk factors and influence patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We examined: 1) associations between economic insecurities and PROs; 2) the impact of screening and addressing economic insecurities during ...

Modelagem da estrutura de florestas clonais de Populus deltoides Marsh através de distribuições diamétricas probabilísticas

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2004
In this paper, six Populus deltoides Marsh. clonal forests planted in 1986 were structurally evaluated between 1987 and 1995 (1 to 9 years old). Probabilistic functions normal, gamma, beta, Johnson SB and Weibull with two and three parameters were ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Adaptive fuzzy integrated LMS based control strategy for voltage power quality enhancement

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
In this paper, an adaptive Takagi Sugeno (TS) Fuzzy integrated Mixed Order Normalized Least Mean Square/Fourth Algorithm (MONLMS/F) is proposed for the unresolved voltage power quality issues in distribution system. The proposed control utilizes the cost

Understanding the Effect of Resistance Temperature Detector Temperature Controllers on Microstructural Alignment in Magnetic Freeze Casting

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...

Clutter attenuation‐stable normalised least‐mean fourth for PBR

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2016
The stable normalised least‐mean fourth (SNLMF) algorithm is developed in the passive bistatic radar (PBR) system to realise the interference cancellation. The larger power of the reference signal may lead to the poor convergence rate.

Robust Bartlett adjustment for hypotheses testing on cointegrating vectors: A bootstrap approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Johansen's (2000) Bartlett correction factor for the LR test of linear restrictions on cointegrated vectors is derived under the i.i.d. Gaussian assumption for the innovation terms.
