Long-term inside corrosion attack of an oil main operation
Protection of Metals, 2006X-ray diffraction and metallographic analyses were applied when investigating the corrosion type and products of the cut-offs from an oil main with welded joints after its 33-year operation. Such a long-term effect of the transported medium and varying dynamic loading led to a considerable corrosion-mechanical damage to the inner surface of the pipe ...

Robust LFSR-based Scrambling to Mitigate Stencil Attack on Main Memory
ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing SystemsMain memory plays a pivotal role in the storage of computational data in a wide range of applications, including highly sensitive assets such as banking transactions, cryptographic keys, and user credentials. However, memory systems remain vulnerable to advanced physical and side-channel attacks, including cold boot attacks that exploit residual data ...

Wireless intrusion detection and response: a classic study using main-in-the-middle attack
2004 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04TH8733), 2004Intrusion detection and countermeasures response is an active area of research. In this paper, we examine integrating an intrusion detection engine with an active countermeasure capability. We use a classic man in the middle attack as a case study to specify the integrated wireless intrusion detection capability with the active countermeasure response.

To develop and assess the validity of the clinical algorithm VERTIGO for the differential diagnosis of central and peripheral vertigo and optimization of treatment of patients with vertigo.Sixty-five patients with an acute attack of vertigo, aged from 18 to 75 years (53±6.7 years), were studied. All patients underwent standard neurological examination.

Evaluation of Main Inflammatory Markers on Peripheral Vertigo Attack
2020Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the main inflammatory markers; neutrophile lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume (MPV), c reactive protein (CRP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine kinase (CK) in patients with acute peripheral vertigo attack.

[Transient ischemic attacks in the carotid system: main angiographic findings].
Acta bio-medica de L'Ateneo parmense : organo della Societa di medicina e scienze naturali di Parma, 1985The clinical material of this report includes 100 cases of TIAs, studied with angiographic investigations in the past four years: lesions in the carotid system were more common (78%) than in the vertebro-basilar system (22%). Ulcerative and stenotic atheromatous plaques of the carotid artery were the more frequent alterations in our cases of TIAs in ...

SYN flood attack prevention using main-memory database management system
2011 Second Asian Himalayas International Conference on Internet (AH-ICI), 2011With increase in densities of semiconductor chips and decrease in cost, it is feasible to store huge amount of data in main memory. Main Memory Database Management System (MMDBMS) uses main memory as primary storage for huge amount of data and provides very high speed access to it.

[Tachycardia and hypotension attacks as the main symptoms of pheochromocytoma--case report].
Wiener medizinische Wochenschrift (1946), 1995Pheochromocytoma is a rare disorder. It usually presents typical hypertensive crises due to katecholamine secretion. Some rare cases of pheochromocytoma have been described to secrete mostly adrenalin and cause characteristical attacks of hypotension and tachycardia. The patient presented here is one of these rare cases.

A Primitive for Revealing Stealthy Peripheral-Based Attacks on the Computing Platform’s Main Memory
2013Computer platform peripherals such as network and management controller can be used to attack the host computer via direct memory access (DMA). DMA-based attacks launched from peripherals are capable of compromising the host without exploiting vulnerabilities present in the operating system running on the host.
