Paleontological Journal, 2009
Based on the studying of gastropods collected by P.A. Gerasimov from the Cretaceous beds of the Volga region, four new species are established: Avellana hauteriviensis sp. nov. from the Upper Hauterivian of the Ulyanovsk region, “Palaeorissoina” sokolovensis sp. nov., O. sinzowi sp. nov., and Nerineopsis turritum sp. nov.

The response of water flow, suspended sediment yield and erosion intensity to contemporary long-term changes in climate and land use/cover in river basins of the Middle Volga Region, European Russia

Science of The Total Environment, 2020
The Middle Volga Region is one of the most populated and agriculturally developed geographic regions of the East European Plain within European Russia, where noticeable changes in climate and land use/cover were observed since the 1980s and the early 1990s respectively.

Hydrological-geomorphological and landscape features for identification of floodplain in small and middle rivers of the middle Volga region

SGEM International Multidisciplinary Scientific GeoConference EXPO Proceedings, 2019
© SGEM 2019. The main factor for determination the floodplain terrace as a geomorphological body is the inundation of the bottom of river valleys by flood and high waters. However, to determinate a high floodplain and separate it from other terraces, it is necessary to use other natural components.

Mapping and spatial‐temporal assessment of gully density in the Middle Volga region, Russia

Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, 2018
A large‐scale mapping of gully density was carried out for the Middle Volga region of the Russian Plain (188 000 km2) based on the interpretation of aerial photographs (scale 1:17 000; surveys undertaken during 1956–1970).

Zooplankton of the Bol’shoi Tsivil River (Middle Volga Region) under a changing hydrological mode and an increasing anthropogenic load

Biology Bulletin, 2012
The zooplankton composition and structure in the Bol’shoi Tsivil River have been studied. The results were compared to A.S. Morozov’s study of this river in 1913–1914, when it was a water-mill dam regulated stream. The fauna still features a significant number of eutrophic water indicators, and Rotifera prevails as before.
