Early cretaceous gastropods of the Middle-Lower Volga river region from P.A. Gerasimov’s collection
Paleontological Journal, 2009Based on the studying of gastropods collected by P.A. Gerasimov from the Cretaceous beds of the Volga region, four new species are established: Avellana hauteriviensis sp. nov. from the Upper Hauterivian of the Ulyanovsk region, “Palaeorissoina” sokolovensis sp. nov., O. sinzowi sp. nov., and Nerineopsis turritum sp. nov.

© SGEM 2019. The main factor for determination the floodplain terrace as a geomorphological body is the inundation of the bottom of river valleys by flood and high waters. However, to determinate a high floodplain and separate it from other terraces, it is necessary to use other natural components.

Mapping and spatial‐temporal assessment of gully density in the Middle Volga region, Russia
Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, 2018A large‐scale mapping of gully density was carried out for the Middle Volga region of the Russian Plain (188 000 km2) based on the interpretation of aerial photographs (scale 1:17 000; surveys undertaken during 1956–1970).

The zooplankton composition and structure in the Bol’shoi Tsivil River have been studied. The results were compared to A.S. Morozov’s study of this river in 1913–1914, when it was a water-mill dam regulated stream. The fauna still features a significant number of eutrophic water indicators, and Rotifera prevails as before.
