On the 11th of October 2017, following a positive vote of the European Parliament, 20 Member States of the European Union (EU) adopted a regulation pursuant to Article 86 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) in order to create an independent European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) by means of enhanced cooperation.
