Frozen reaction fronts in steady flows: a burning-invariant-manifold perspective

open access: yes, 2015
The dynamics of fronts, such as chemical reaction fronts, propagating in two-dimensional fluid flows can be remarkably rich and varied. For time-invariant flows, the front dynamics may simplify, settling in to a steady state in which the reacted domain ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Analysis of the effect of fecal SDC2, ADHFE1 and PPP2R5C gene methylation test for screening colorectal cancer in the Otog Front Banner

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology
Objective The incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is gradually increasing, making the prevention and early detection of CRC a global priority. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of fecal SDC2, ADHFE1, and PPP2R5C gene methylation on the

Bacteroides uniformis-generated hexadecanedioic acid ameliorates metabolic-associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesGut Microbes
Gut microbiota exerts a pivotal influence on the development of Metabolic Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD), although the specific contributions of individual bacterial strains and their metabolites remain poorly defined.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The Gabor wave front set of compactly supported distributions

open access: yes, 2019
We show that the Gabor wave front set of a compactly supported distribution equals zero times the projection on the second variable of the classical wave front ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Comparison of measurement methods of the front velocity of small-scale debris flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Debris flow is a gravity-driven process, which is characterized by a travelling dense surge including large boulders, and it is followed by a more fluid tail.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.
