Avian diversity changes in traditional agricultural landscapes of Japan over ten years
Agricultural intensification is a leading cause of biodiversity loss worldwide. However, the traditional agroecosystems are often associated with high avian diversity because of their landscape heterogeneity, offering available niches to different bird species.

Direct democracy in the Slovak Republic
Since Slovakia's transition from authoritarian rule to democracy and the rule of law in 1992, the Slovak people are empowered to participate in the decision-making of the state by means of the popular initiative and the referendum. Although seven referendums have been held in the Slovak Republic so far, only one was considered valid. This paper aims to

Patterns and drivers of range filling of alien mammals in Europe
Biological invasions are major drivers of biodiversity change. Alien mammals are particularly concerning in Europe, where their expansion remains unabated, though the driving factors are still unclear. Well‐documented introductions and distributions in this continent provide a unique opportunity to understand how human activities influenced this ...

Orthoptera assemblages of beech stand plots during early succession stages after clearcutting -
Open habitats in closed forests are formed by various biotic and abiotic factors. These new habitats differ from their former parent stands in light conditions and vegetation structure facilitating their colonisation by heliophilous insects.

A field‐induced slow magnetic relaxation was observed in an ionic pentacoordinated Cu(II) complex with 4‐amino‐3,5‐di‐2‐pyridyl‐4H‐1,2,4‐triazole and azido ligands. The analysis of the relaxation behaviour supports the origin of the slow magnetic relaxation in intramolecular low‐energy vibration modes participating in the one‐phonon direct and two ...
