THE TEXTILE AND CLOTHING INDUSTRIALIZATION CYCLE

open access: yesM U Iktisadi ve Idari Bilimler Dergisi, 2019
Starting with the industrial revolution in the United Kingdom in the 18th century, the textile and clothing  (TC) sector has shown some streamlined stages and characteristics that seem to reoccur even today in  a similar sequence. The TC industry develops capitalizing on the adoption of its industrial technology,  creates employment for relatively low ...

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add

Bladder cancer in the textile industry

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Work, Environment & Health, 2000
This study examined the occupations and industries at high risk for bladder cancer in an area where the textile industry is plentiful and the incidence of the disease is very high.A case-referent study concerning 218 incident bladder cancer cases diagnosed during 1993-1995 in the county of Vallès Occidental, Barcelona, was carried out.

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.
