Al3+/Ta5+ Co‐Doping Promotes Homogeneous Li+ Transport Enabling High Performance Ni‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Al3+/Ta5+ co‐doping refines the primary particles of LiNiO2, reduces Li/Ni antisite disorder, and expands the c‐axis lattice parameter, thereby enabling faster and more homogeneous Li+ transport. Such rapid and homogeneous Li+ transport suppresses high‐voltage phase transitions and microcrack formation, ultimately improving the rate capability and long‐

Nitride MXenes Beyond Carbides: Bridging the Gap Between Computational Prediction and Experimental Realization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitride MXenes remain constrained by a persistent gap between computational prediction and experimental realization. This Review identifies the thermodynamic, kinetic, and chemical barriers limiting their synthesis, critically evaluates emerging fabrication routes, and proposes a multidimensional computational‐experimental framework to accelerate the ...

Biodegradable 3D‐Printable and Coatable Antifouling Composites for Marine Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Marine biofouling damages submerged surfaces and raises greenhouse gas emissions. Biodegradable antifouling biocomposites were developed by hot‐mixing beeswax, Tween 80, and calcium stearate or stearic acid. Adjusting the component ratio enables processing via hot‐pressing, 3D‐printing, or dip‐coating.

Polymer Side‐Chain Electronic Effects Regulating Solvation Sheath for Low‐Temperature and High‐Voltage Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reveals the influence of polymer side‐chain electronic effects on the Li+ solvation sheath in gel polymer electrolytes. Electron‐donating side chains induce the strong Li+ coordination and FDMA‐dominated solvation, impeding Li+ desolvation, whereas electron‐withdrawing side chains weaken Li+ coordination, facilitating anion‐rich solvation and

Full‐Field Damage Monitoring in Architected Lattices Using In situ Electrical Impedance Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ electrical impedance tomography (EIT) turns 3D‐printed, CNT‐infused architected lattices into full‐field damage‐imaging systems. Tunable Voronoi‐based geometries act as active sensing architectures, enabling conductivity maps to detect early‐stage damage and localise sequential ligament fracture before catastrophic failure.
