ABSTRACT This study advances the racial occupational segregation literature by modelling the intersections of race, gender and place. Analysis of confidential 2021 Canadian Census microdata finds that approximately one‐quarter of Black men or women would have to change occupations for distributions to be similar to their White counterparts.

Fairness or Not? Health Resources Allocation in Chongqing—Based on Theil Index
Object: To Provide a basis for the government optimizing the allocation of health resources. Methods: The overall fairness was analyzed by Theil index and Gini coefficient. The main causes of unfairness were estimated by the decomposability of Thiel index.

Powering RCTs for Marginal Effects With GLMs Using Prognostic Score Adjustment
ABSTRACT In randomized clinical trials (RCTs), the accurate estimation of marginal treatment effects is crucial for determining the efficacy of interventions. Enhancing the statistical power of these analyses is a key objective for statisticians. The increasing availability of historical data from registries, prior trials, and health records presents ...

Abstract Carbonate weathering carbon‐sink (CWCS) is a critical yet inaccurately quantified component of terrestrial carbon sequestration. However, the mechanisms through which climate change and vegetation dynamics drive the spatial heterogeneity of CWCS remain unclear.

Abstract Peatlands play a critical role in the global carbon (C)‐climate cycle, acting as vast long‐term stores of disproportionately large quantities of C relative to their land area. In recent decades, climate‐driven shifts in fire regimes and peatland hydrophysical properties have occurred across Canada's boreal regions, increasing concerns about ...

Theil’s Index of Inequality: Computation of Value-Validity Correction
The Theil index is one of the most popular indices of economic inequality, one reason for which is no doubt due to its convenient additive decomposition property. One of its weaknesses, however, is its lack of any intuitively meaningful interpretations.

The Quantum Theil Index: Characterizing Graph Centralization using von Neumann Entropy
We show that the von Neumann entropy (from herein referred to as the von Neumann index) of a graph's trace normalized combinatorial Laplacian provides structural information about the level of centralization across a graph. This is done by considering the Theil index, which is an established statistical measure used to determine levels of inequality ...

A Statistical Analysis of the Wave‐Particle Dynamics Near the Kennel‐Petschek Limit
Abstract This study investigates how electron fluxes and chorus waves behave relative to the Kennel–Petschek (K‐P) flux limit using 7 years of Van Allen Probes observations. We combine spatial statistics of when the K‐P limit is exceeded, energy‐dependent flux–wave relationships, and frequency‐resolved chorus spectra to provide a more comprehensive ...
