Amongst the piroplasmoses of livestock in China, the commonest theilerioses are caused by Theileria annulata, T. sergenti and T. mutans. Research carried out over many years has shown these to be distributed mainly in Northern China but they also occur in Southern China. T. annulata and T.

Vaccination against Tropical Theileriosis
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2000Abstract: Theileria annulata, the cause of tropical theileriosis is propagated in cattle with stage‐to‐stage transmission by Hyalomma ticks. Three stages in the life cycle of the parasite‐tick‐derived sporozoites, intramononuclear schizonts, and erythrocytic merozoites‐infect cattle.

Theileria parasites, the causative agents of theileriosis, infect a vast number of wild and domestic animals and are transmitted transstadially by various members of tick vectors of the family Ixodidae. Three Theileria species infecting small ruminants have been shown to be responsible for losses in small ruminant production. Two of them, T. uilenbergi

Chemotherapy of Theileriosis in Cattle
1981Halofuginone is active against Theileria parva and T. annulata in clinical cases. The potency of the drug was tested in several series of experiments using infected cattle. In the beginning, Halofuginone was available only in the hydrobromide form, but later the lactate salt was used, since it is better tolerated in cattle.

Metastasis in Bovine Theileriosis
