Inoculation of pines in a nursery with Pisolithus tinctorius and Thelephora terrestris in Korea
Plant and Soil, 1983Mycelial inocula of the two ectomycorrhizal fungi, Pisolithus tinctorius (Pt) and Thelephora terrestris (Tt) were artificially introduced into fumigated nursery soil before seed sowing. At the end of the first growing season, Pt stimulated the height growth of Pinus densiflora, P. thunbergii, P. rigida, and P.

Germination of Thelephora terrestris basidiospores
Canadian Journal of Botany, 1981Thelephora terrestris basidiospores germinate slowly and sparsely on nutrient agar media if colonies of red yeast (Rhodotorula glutinis) or certain filamentous fungi are present together with the spores. Considerably faster germination at a higher percentage can be induced by seedling roots of pine and some other trees but not by roots of any herbs or

Studies on neutral exopolysaccharides produced by the ectomycorrhizaThelephora terrestris
FEMS Microbiology Letters, 2002The ectomycorrhizal hymenomycete Thelephora terrestris was grown in synthetic pure culture and the production of extracellular polysaccharide was monitored. The exopolysaccharides were prepared by ethanol precipitation and then fractionated into two components using a DEAE-Sepharose column.

Ectomycorrhizas of Thelephora terrestris formed with Eucalyptus globulus
Mycologia, 1996Ectomycorrhizal formation between Thel- ephora terrestris and Eucalyptus globulus is reported for the first time. The mycorrhizas are described and compared with those formed by Thelephora terrestris on other tree species. Ecological and practical impli- cations of the association are discussed.
