Theoretical Calculations on Solid Argon [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1956
IT is well known that a knowledge of the second virial coefficient of a gas does not suffice to specify the intermolecular potential of the constituent molecules. In fact, even if a simple formula of Mie–Lennard-Jones type is used as an approximation to the potential, the parameters are not uniquely determined by the second virial coefficient.

Ta3N5 Nanobelt-Loaded Ru Nanoparticle Hybrids’ Electrocatalysis for Hydrogen Evolution in Alkaline Media

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Electrochemical hydrogen evolution is a highly efficient way to produce hydrogen, but since it is limited by high-cost electrocatalysts, the preparation of high-efficiency electrocatalysts with fewer or free noble metals is important.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Cyclohexane Vibronic States: A Combined VUV Spectroscopy and Theoretical Study

open access: yesMolecules
In this work, we provide results from a joint experimental and theoretical study of the vibronic features of cyclohexane (C6H12) in the photon energy range of 6.8–10.8 eV (182–115 nm).

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

A multi-functional chemosensor for highly selective ratiometric fluorescent detection of silver(I) ion and dual turn-on fluorescent and colorimetric detection of sulfide [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2018
A multi-functional chemosensor 1 as silver and sulfide detector was synthesized by the combination of octopamine and 4-dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde. Sensor 1 exhibited a ratiometric fluorescence emission for Ag+ from blue to sky. The binding mode of 1 and

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Thermodynamics and polarity-driven properties of fluorinated cyclopropanes

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
Cyclopropane is a significant alicyclic motif, widely utilized in medicinal chemistry, while fluorination serves as a powerful tool to modulate properties that enhance the performance of pharmaceuticals and materials. This quantum-chemical study explores
