Using Theorema in the Formalization of Theoretical Economics [PDF]
Theoretical economics makes use of strict mathematical methods. For instance, games as introduced by von Neumann and Morgenstern allow for formal mathematical proofs for certain axiomatized economical situations. Such proofs can--at least in principle--also be carried through in formal systems such as Theorema.

ABSTRACT The accelerating expansion of data‐centric technologies is sharply increasing the energy burden of information storage, placing unprecedented pressure on the efficiency of magnetic switching. Conventional field‐driven reversal, once the foundation of magnetic memory, has become impractical in modern architectures due to its high energy cost ...

Central bank communication and crowding out of private information in an experimental asset market [PDF]
Theoretical results from previous work, presented in Kool, Middeldorp and Rosenkranz (2007), suggest that central bank communication crowds out private information acquisition and that this effect can lead to a deterioration of the ability of financial ...

A Perspective on the Applications of Triphasic Gas Storage in Electrochemical Systems
Gas storage in microporous materials positioned locally at an electrode or electrocatalyst surface enhances electrochemical processes. Abstract Microporous materials store gases under dry conditions (e.g., hydrogen or oxygen via physisorption), but in some cases microporous materials also show triphasic (e.g., in a solid|gas|liquid system) gas storage ...

Multiple shear bands in granular materials
The transition regime from quasi-static to dynamic shear regime is studied by discrete element method (DEM) and by means of a mesoscopic model. We show that at moderate shear rate multiple shear bands appear which eventually appear as a continuous shear ...

Photoelectric Imaging of the Optically Inactive Charge State of Silicon‐Vacancy Defects in Diamond
Although the doubly negative charge state of the SiV center in diamond is predicted to ionize only in the ultraviolet and is therefore considered optically inaccessible, we demonstrate visible‐range photoelectric imaging enabled by a previously unrecognized regime of laser‐assisted tunneling. ABSTRACT The investigation of optically active point defects

Feminist Economics: Theoretical and Political Dimensions
AbstractFeminist economics is a school of economic thought and political action that gained important visibility during the 1990s, although its origins can be dated back to the mid‐19th century. Since then, feminist economics has developed its own concepts, analytical frameworks, and methodologies.
