Grand Unified Theories and Lepton-Flavour Violation

open access: yes, 1998
Lepton-flavour violating processes, such as $ \to e $, are studied in ordinary (non-SUSY) SU(5) and SUSY SU(5) grand unified theories. First given are some introductory argument on the mechanism of U.V. divergence cancellation in flavour changing neutral current processes and on the decoupling of particles with GUT scale masses .

4D Insights into Coral Biomineralization: Effects of Ocean Acidification on the Early Skeleton Development of a Stony Coral

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early coral skeletons grow through formation of two co‐joined zones, rapid accretion deposits and thickening deposits. Advanced imaging and simulations reveal that ocean acidification reshapes these zones, shifting the coral portfolio of mineral phases which alters skeletal resistance to mechanical stress.

Solving the strong CP problem without axions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We formulate general conditions under which the strong CP problem is solved by spontaneous CP violation. Quark-mass matrix elements are polynomials in the CP-breaking order parameters, engineered such that their determinant is a real constant.

ERβ/circAHNAK Axis Inhibits USP10–FMR1 Deubiquitination to Prevent m⁶A‐Mediated ADAM17 Decay and Promote Angiogenesis in Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In clear cell renal cell carcinoma, estrogen receptor β (ERβ) upregulates circAHNAK, which competitively binds USP10 to prevent FMR1 deubiquitination, leading to FMR1 degradation. Loss of FMR1 hinders m⁶A‐dependent decay of ADAM17 mRNA, resulting in ADAM17 accumulation in tumor exosomes and enhanced angiogenesis.

Universal predictions of Siegel modular invariant theories near the fixed points

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We analyze a general class of locally supersymmetric, CP and modular invariant models of lepton masses depending on two complex moduli taking values in the vicinity of a fixed point, where the theory enjoys a residual symmetry under a finite group.

Global Evidence of the Unimodal Response of Ecosystem Respiration to Soil Moisture

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using global eddy covariance observations and a field experiment, this paper provides compelling evidence for the widespread unimodal relationship between soil moisture and ecosystem respiration and its water adaptation. Such knowledge facilitates understanding of soil moisture in affecting respiratory carbon emissions and has the potential to improve ...

Flavor at FASER: discovering light scalars beyond minimal flavor violation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study a simple class of flavored scalar models, in which the couplings of a new light scalar to standard-model fermions are controlled by the flavor symmetry responsible for fermion masses and mixings.
