Interval‐valued Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivative in continuous programming

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates a novel class of variational programming problems characterized by fractional interval values, formulated under the Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivative with an exponential kernel. Invex and generalized invex functions are used to discuss the Mond–Weir‐type dual problem for the considered variational problem.

Modeling and parameter estimation for fractional large‐scale interconnected Hammerstein systems

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper addresses the challenge of modeling and identifying large‐scale interconnected systems exhibiting memory effects, hereditary properties, and non‐local interactions. We propose a fractional‐order extension of the Hammerstein architecture that incorporates Grünwald–Letnikov operators to capture complex dynamics through multiple ...

Artificial intelligence‐assisted design, synthesis and analysis of smart biomaterials

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Smart biomaterials are rapidly emerging as tools for tissue engineering, and artificial intelligence has played essential roles in biomaterial studies. By bridging the literature gap in AI‐based design, synthesis and analysis of smart biomaterials, the current review shares perspectives on how biomaterial scientists can practically incorporate AI for ...

Pathways to Sustainable Consumption Apps Adoption: Extending UTAUT2 With Personal Values and Behaviors

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sustainable consumption apps (SCAs) support consumer transitions toward responsible purchasing decisions. This study advances understanding of SCAs adoption pathways by developing a comprehensive framework that integrates the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) with dimensions from the value‐belief‐norm (VBN) theory ...

Unveiling Circular Economy Pathways Among Small and Medium Hotels Through a Hybrid Analytical Framework

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Small and medium‐sized hotels (SME hotels), which constitute the majority of the global hospitality sector, face mounting pressure to align with sustainability goals. However, their transition to circular economy (CE) practices remains under‐theorised and poorly implemented, particularly in emerging economies where institutional fragility and ...

Higher-dimensional models of networks

open access: yes, 2009
Networks are often studied as graphs, where the vertices stand for entities in the world and the edges stand for connections between them. While relatively easy to study, graphs are often inadequate for modeling real-world situations, especially those ...

Logistics Service Providers' Business Models in the Circular Economy: A Systematic Literature Review and Panarchy Theory Framework

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Logistics service providers (LSPs) can support the transition to a circular economy (CE) through their visibility over and facilitation of resource flows between supply chain (SC) actors. However, the proliferation of CE‐related terms, compounded by a manufacturer‐centric focus on CE culminating in knowledge siloes that result in an overall ...

The Role of Patents in Circular Innovation: The Case of Sustainable and Recyclable Materials in the Textile Industry

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines whether and how patenting advances circular innovation and therefore contributes to the sociotechnical transition toward a circular economy. Using the multilevel perspective (MLP) as a theoretical framework, we conducted a case study set in the empirical context of man‐made cellulosic fibers. These heavily patented fibers
