Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Economics as a fundamental factor in the formation of law [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
In the modern world, taking into account modern trends and processes that deeply affect social behavior, law, as an institution regulating social behavior, is also changing, but nevertheless, the institute of law is experiencing difficulties with ...

Experimental and Numerical Modal Analysis of Composite Sandwich Structures Using Surfboards as Model Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...

NATURAL LAW THEORY IN ITALY

open access: yesPrudentia Iuris, 2020
Abstract: Natural Law Theories are influenced by particular cultural trends and philosophical traditions. The Italian trend is characterized, on the one hand, by the existence of a normative ethics grounded on human reason and inspired by the Christian faith according to Aquinas’ doctrine, and, on the other hand, by a philosophy of history concerning ...

Grain Refinement During Severe Plastic Deformation and Similitude of Subgrain Formation: A Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular dynamics is used to investigate structure refinement during severe plastic deformation. The results show similitude with experimental data. Molecular dynamics simulations of severe plastic deformation of monocrystalline and polycrystalline samples by multiaxial compression of aluminum are carried out.

Restriction of member state sovereignty in the European Union [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Scientia Politica, 2018
The sovereignty is the power of the state which is independent from any other internal or external powers. The sovereignty is the attribute of the power of the state or the right of the state, whose condition is the existence of the state independent of ...

Triple Junctions as Dislocation‐Like Defects: The Role of Grain Boundary Crystallography Revealed by Experiment and Atomistic Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Contemporary Natural Law Theory: Finnis and Beyond

open access: yes
One of the main factors driving the contemporary revival of natural law theory was the publication of John Finnis’s important book, Natural Law and Natural Rights, in 1980. This article begins by discussing some of Finnis’s most enduring contributions to

Hot‐Film and Calorimetric Methods With Transient Heating for Measurement of High Biofluid Flow Rate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Accurate measurement of biofluid flow rate is vital for clinical diagnostics. We propose a transient heating strategy using short thermal pulses and peak temperature tracking to enhance the flow sensitivity of the hot‐Film and calorimetric methods. Simulations show how optimal heating time maximizes sensitivity across flow rates.
