To reduce the cost and workload of large‐scale gut content metabarcoding studies, we tested the performance of pooled samples versus individually processed samples in terms of information completeness. Pooled samples and individually processed samples recovered highly correlated taxonomic diversity, composition and richness of prey.

In this study, Latrodectus revivensis Shulov, 1948 is recorded for the first time from Iran based on female specimens. This species was previously recorded from the eastern Mediterranean region.
