In addition, new localities are reported for two Enoplognatha Pavesi, 1880 species in Iran: Enoplognatha mediterranea Levy & Amitai, 1981 and Enoplognatha macrochelis Levy & Amitai, 1981.

The first description of a Latrodectus spider is that of Rossi (1790) at the University of Pisa, who named the species Aranea 13-guttata; it was later placed under the genus Latrodectus Walckenaer. He was also the first to prove the relationship between the bite of this species and the syndrome of “latrodectism,” which had been confused up to that time

A new genus of the subfamily Theridiinae Sundevall, 1833, Troglotheridion gen. nov., with the type species Troglotheridion lamellatum sp. nov. (male, female) and an additional species: Troglotheridion sangzhiense (Zhu, 1998) comb. nov. (male, female) ex. Theridion Walckenaer, 1805 is described.
