PLACEMENT OF THERIDIIDAE AND ITS RELATIVES This analysis tested the placement of Synotaxus (formerly an argyrodine theridiid) in a matrix containing argyrodine theridiid genera. In concordance with Forster et al. (1990), Griswold et al. (1998) and Agnarsson (2003c), Synotaxus is not a theridiid.

Spiders are highly sensitive to lambda‐cyhalothrin. Sensitivity is strongly related to phylogeny and climate. Pesticide pollution may negatively affect spider ecological functions, such as natural pest suppression. Abstract BACKGROUND In spite of their importance as arthropod predators, spiders have received little attention in the risk assessment of ...

Abundance data reflects the reality of biological systems better than the presence/absence of data. Spatial species aggregations do not imply that interspecific competition is absent while spatial segregations do not mean that it is, considering species morphoecological traits and phenology.

Spiders as superhosts and secondary kleptoparasites
Kleptoparasitism, broadly defined, is the theft of extrinsic resources resulting in potential cost to the host. The stealing of resources, often food gathered by another, is perhaps best known in birds and mammals, but is even more common and widespread ...
