Vicarious calibration of ASTER thermal infrared bands

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2005
The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) on the Terra satellite has five bands in the thermal infrared (TIR) spectral region between 8-12 /spl mu/m. The TIR bands have been regularly validated in-flight using ground validation targets.

Thermal saturation of band transport in a superlattice

Physical Review Letters, 1990
Thermal saturation of band transport in a GaAs/AlGaAs superlattice miniband is observed for the first time. The Drude conductivity of the miniband is measured as a function of temperature. As the temperature is raised so that ${\mathit{k}}_{\mathit{B}}$T is significantly larger than the miniband width the conductivity is strongly quenched.

System-Level, Unified In-band and Out-of-band Dynamic Thermal Control

2010 39th International Conference on Parallel Processing, 2010
High-density computer racks become increasingly commonplace in supercomputing centers and data centers. With tight integration of high-powered computing components in the racks, hot spots or pockets of elevated temperatures on the chips and system can be easily formed when room air circulation is not effective.
