Critical Temperatures for Vibrations and Buckling of Magneto-Electro-Elastic Nonlocal Strain Gradient Plates

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
An analytical method is presented in this work for the linear vibrations and buckling of nano-plates in a hygro-thermal environment. Nonlinear von Kármán terms are included in the plate kinematics in order to consider the instability phenomena.

Buckling Analysis of Functionally Graded Cylindrical Shells Under Mechanical and Thermal Loads by Dynamic Relaxation Method [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics of Advanced Composite Structures, 2020
In this study, using the dynamic relaxation method, nonlinear mechanical and thermal buckling behaviors of functionally graded cylindrical shells were studied based on first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT).

Nonlinear Flutter Analysis of Composite Panels in Thermal Environment [PDF]

open access: yesHangkong bingqi, 2022
Composite materials have been widely applied to the structure of high-speed flight vehicles due to their excellent performance. In hypersonic flight, the buckling and nonlinear flutter will occur in the composite panel on account of the combined action ...

Thermal Buckling of Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yesECS Transactions, 2009
In this article, we analyze that the thermal buckling of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) are subjected to axial compression due to temperature rise using Euler beam and Timoshenko beam theories. According to the analysis, the Euler beam model overpredicts the critical buckling temperature, especially ...

Buckling of thermalized elastic sheets [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 2021
Steady progress in the miniaturization of structures and devices has reached a scale where thermal fluctuations become relevant and it is thus important to understand how such fluctuations affect their mechanical stability. Here, we investigate the buckling of thermalized sheets and we demonstrate that thermal fluctuations increase the critical ...

Thermal buckling of imperfect functionally graded cylindrical shells according to Wan-Donnell model

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2008
A thermal buckling analysis of imperfect circular cylindrical shells of functionally graded material is considered. The material properties are assumed varying as a power form of thickness coordinate variable.

Symplectic method for the influence of surface effect on thermal buckling of graded porous nanobeams

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao
The influences of surface effect on the thermal buckling behavior of graded porous nano-beams were analyzed. Based on the Grutin-Murdoch surface elasticity theory and Euler beam theory, the thermal buckling of graded porous nano-beams was studied by ...
