Dimension- and shape-dependent thermal transport in nano-patterned thin films investigated by scanning thermal microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Scanning thermal microscopy (SThM) is a technique which is often used for the measurement of the thermal conductivity of materials at the nanometre scale. The impact of nano-scale feature size and shape on apparent thermal conductivity, as measured using

Measurement of the temperature-dependent cross-plane thermal conductivity of the Li-ion battery pouch cell

open access: yesJournal of Power Sources Advances
Due to the lamella structure of Li-ion batteries, their cross-plane thermal conductivity is substantially lower than the in-plane conductivity. This leads to pronounced anisotropy, which complicates the accurate measurement of thermal conductivity ...

Measurement of Effective Thermal Conductivity of Coke

open access: yesTetsu-to-Hagane, 1993
Effective thermal conductivity of metallurgical coke was measured in the temperature range from 100 to 1 400°C by using the laser flash method. Effective thermal conductivity k of coke increased with a rise of temperature, and decreased with an increase of porosity of coke.

Thermal conductivity Measurements of Kaolite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Testing was performed to determine the thermal conductivity of Kaolite 1600, which primarily consists of Portland cement and vermiculite. The material was made by Thermal Ceramics for refractory applications. Its combination of light weight, low density, low cost, and noncombustibility made it an attractive alternative to the materials currently used ...

Measurement of in-plane thermal conductivity in polymer films

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
Measuring the in-plane thermal conductivity of organic thermoelectric materials is challenging but is critically important. Here, a method to study the in-plane thermal conductivity of free-standing films (via the use of commercial equipment) based on ...

High precision cryogenic thermal conductivity standards [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
New apparatus allows accurate simultaneous measurement of thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, and thermopower for technically important materials, such as new or uncommon alloys. A list of materials investigated is presented.

Local measurement of thermal conductivity and diffusivity

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2015
Simultaneous measurement of local thermal diffusivity and conductivity is demonstrated on a range of ceramic samples. This was accomplished by measuring the temperature field spatial profile of samples excited by an amplitude modulated continuous wave laser beam.
