Holistic thermal management strategies for electric vehicles

open access: yes, 2022
S.67-80Thermal management systems in vehicles ensure the demand-based supply and extraction of the heating and cooling energy that is needed to fulfil the specific requirements of components regarding their operating temperatures and to guarantee thermal

Investigation of oxygen carriers aided oxy-fuel combustion characteristics in fluidized bed

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Biomass oxy-fuel combustion in fluidized bed can achieve negative carbon emissions over the entire lifecycle, making it one of the key technologies to ensure the achievement of China’s “dual carbon goals”. However, the prominent issue of uneven mixing of

Simulation of Sorption-Enhanced Steam Methane Reforming over Ni-Based Catalyst in a Pressurized Dual Fluidized Bed Reactor

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
Steam methane reforming is a major method of hydrogen production. However, this method usually suffers from low energy efficiency and high carbon-emission intensity. To solve this issue, a novel steam-methane-reforming process over a Ni-based catalyst in

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Prediction and intelligent diagnosis of flue gas flowrate from coal-fired boilers based on deep learning and transfer learning

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
The reliability of flue gas flowrate data is a critical prerequisite for achieving accurate carbon emission measurement. However, issues such as the inhomogeneity of the flow field, the selection of measurement points and the clogging of the sampling ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
