Thermal-Comfort Design of Personalized Casts

Proceedings of the 30th Annual ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology, 2017
This paper introduces a novel method for designing personalized orthopedic casts which are aware of thermal-comfort while satisfying mechanical requirements. Our pipeline starts from thermal images taken by an infrared camera, by which the distribution of thermal-comfort sensitivity is generated on the surface of a 3D scanned model.

LISA thermal design

Classical and Quantum Gravity, 2005
The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) mission, a space based gravitational wave detector, uses laser metrology to measure distance fluctuations between proof masses aboard three spacecraft. The total acceleration disturbance to each proof mass is required to be below 3 x 10(exp -15) meters per second squared per the square root of Hertz ...

Thermal Design Integration

Konstruktion, 2016

Thermal Design for Mars_NEXT

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2009
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The ESA Proposed MarsNEXT mission includes at least three Landers and an orbiter. These will establish a network on the surface of Mars to enable investigation of the interior of the planet, its atmospheric dynamics and the geology of each landing site.

Spacecraft thermal design

Physics in Technology, 1987
Spacecraft operate in a harsh environment that inflicts a thermal gradient of several hundred degrees between the sunlit and shadowed sides of the vehicle. In the absence of a conductive or convective medium, the challenge in spacecraft thermal design is to achieve an internal environment that approximates to 'room temperature'.

Reactor Thermal Design

2016
In order that the fuel rods, reactor vessel, pipes, and other devices do not lose their normal functions or performance during reactor operation, limit values are applied to several features including heat generation, cooling, temperature, flow, etc.
