Initial stages of organic film growth characterized by thermal desorption spectroscopy. [PDF]

open access: yesSurf Sci, 2015
In the wake of the increasing importance of organic electronics, a more in-depth understanding of the early stages of organic film growth is indispensable. In this review a survey of several rod-like and plate-like organic molecules (p-quaterphenyl, p-sexiphenyl, hexaazatriphenylene-hexacarbonitrile (HATCN), rubicene, indigo) deposited on various ...

A kinetic Monte Carlo approach to diffusion-controlled thermal desorption spectroscopy. [PDF]

open access: yesPhilos Trans A Math Phys Eng Sci, 2017
Atomistic simulations of thermal desorption spectra for effusion from bulk materials to characterize binding or trapping sites are a challenging task as large system sizes as well as extended time scales are required. Here, we introduce an approach where we combine kinetic Monte Carlo with an analytic approximation of the superbasins within the ...

Apparatus for low temperature thermal desorption spectroscopy of portable samples [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2016
An experimental setup for low temperature thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS) integrated in an ultrahigh vacuum-chamber housing a high-end scanning probe microscope for comprehensive multi-tool surface science analysis is described. This setup enables the characterization with TDS at low temperatures (T > 22 K) of portable sample designs, as ...

Detection of deuterium trapping sites in tungsten by thermal desorption spectroscopy and positron annihilation spectroscopy

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2016
Thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS) of tungsten implanted with D2+ ions was performed after irradiation with 8 MeV-electrons, 5.0keV-D2+, and 6.0 MeV-Fe3+. The release peak temperatures of the TDS spectra are discussed.

Chloroform desorption from poly(lactic acid) nanocomposites: a thermal desorption spectroscopy study [PDF]

open access: yesPure and Applied Chemistry, 2019
Abstract Biopolymer nanocomposites were prepared by solvent casting dispersing lauryl-functionalized cellulose nano-fibrils (CNF) in a poly(lactic acid) matrix (PLA). The release of residual chloroform (CHCl3) solvent molecules was studied by Thermal Desorption Spectroscopy (TDS) analysis.
