Thermal Diffusion and Self-Diffusion in Ammonia

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1966
The temperature dependence of the isotopic thermal-diffusion factor α0 for ammonia has been investigated with the help of an equimolar mixture of 14NH3 and 15NH3. A 10-tube metal swing-separator as well as a two-bulb glass apparatus were used for these measurements.

Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Diffusivity

1983
Abstract This chapter presents basic principles and the theoretical results of heat transport in solids. Thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity are the principal properties discussed. Discussions are also included on the effects of temperature, magnetic field, and metallurgical variations caused by composition, processing, and heat-

Diffusion and Thermal Diffusion of Isotopic Gases

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1953
The thermal diffusion ratio, RT, for argon and neon isotopes is known to be a linear function of lnT over a considerable temperature range. It is shown that d lnD/d lnT must also be approximately linear in lnT, and that the diffusion coefficient, D, should therefore obey an empirical equation of the form D=αT(β+γlnT),where α, β, γ are constants ...
