Further study on thermal deformation reduction for CFRP-based improved ball screws

open access: yesAdvanced Composites Letters, 2020
To determine the thermal deformation of ball screw in actual working condition, a novel method for determining thermal deformation of ball screws in complicated working condition is proposed based on G-code and finite-element (FE) method.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Thermal elastic deformation of the layered covering on the concave part of a road

open access: yesStrength of Materials and Theory of Structures, 2019
The problem on numerical investigation of thermo-elastic deformation of a layered coating on the concave and rectilinear road parts is stated. The constitutive equations are formulated, their finite-element analogues are constructed. The load versions at different values of geometric, structural, and temperature parameters are taken into account. The ...

Variable Stiffness Flexure Structures Enabled by Phase‐Change Gallium and Adhesive Interfacial Locking for Soft Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A flexure‐based variable stiffness structure is developed by integrating phase‐change modulation and adhesive interfacial locking of gallium. The design enables a wide stiffness variability, transitioning from soft, flexible behavior to rigid, load‐supporting performance.

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Finite-strain thermoelasticity based on multiplicative decomposition of deformation gradient [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics, 2002
The constitutive formulation of the finite-strain thermoelasticity is revisited within the thermodynamic framework and the multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient into its elastic and thermal parts.
