Thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication of starved elliptical contacts
Tribology International, 2009For the starved thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication in elliptical contacts, a numerical solver based on the multi-grid technique was developed and numerical solutions were achieved. The influences of the thickness of oil-supply layer, elliptical ratio, entrainment velocity, slide-roll ratio, and the maximum Hertzian pressure on the lubrication ...

Damping characteristics of thermal elastohydrodynamic lubricated point contacts
Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, 2021The present work envisaged the development of a novel method for computing the damping coefficients of thermal elastohydrodynamic lubricated point contacts based on energy conservation. The effects of load, entrainment velocity, and slide–roll ratio were studied, and the results were compared with the ISO thermal results.

Thermal Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication Analysis for Point Contact Transmission
Volume 4: Design and Manufacturing, 2009To investigate the thermal EHL (elastohydrodynamic lubrication) in point contact transmission, a model considering the two-dimensional surface velocity of tooth face and the running-in is proposed. The numerical solutions for pressure, temperature and film thickness distribution in the contact zone are obtained by solving equations including the ...

Thermal Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication of Rolling/Sliding Line Contacts
Journal of Tribology, 1992The solution of thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication of rolling/sliding line contacts has been obtained. The Newton-Raphson technique was used to solve the simultaneous system of Reynolds and elasticity equations. The energy equation with boundary conditions was solved by the finite-difference method.

Thermal Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication of Rider Rings
Journal of Tribology, 1984The full thermal elastohydrodynamic analysis of the lubrication of rider rings is presented. A numerical solution of the coupled Reynolds, elasticity, energy, and Laplace’s equations for the oil film thickness, pressure, and temperature and rider rings temperatures is obtained. The temperature variation across the oil film is included.

Thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication of modified gear system considering vibration
Journal of Central South University, 2020The thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of a modified gear system under a dynamic load were investigated, including the influence of the modification coefficient and vibrations. Based on the dynamic theory of gear systems, a six-degree-of-freedom tribo-dynamics model was established.
