Machine-Tool Error Observer Design With Application to Thermal Error Tracking
Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, 2018AbstractA parameter identification procedure for identifying the parameters of a volumetric error model of a large machine tool requires hundreds of random volumetric error components in its workspace and thus takes hours of measurement time. It causes thermal errors of a large machine difficult to be tracked and compensated periodically.

Thermal modelling of an HSC machining centre to predict thermal error of the feed system
Production Engineering, 2012Machine tools equipped with linear motors can achieve high feed speed as well as high accuracy. However, the direct feed drive system generates heat through power loss and friction. In combination with environmental influences such as machine shop climate, this can lead to a local deformation of the machine tool structure and induce a direct ...

Measurement, modeling and compensation of thermal error for machine tools
2015 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), 2015Thermal error accounts for a large proportion in the error sources of the machine tool. In this paper, the thermal error of a boring and milling machine tool is modeled with the output error model of timing analysis. In order to improve the prediction accuracy, Firefly algorithm is used to optimize the number of groups and the orders of output error ...

Analysis and reduction of thermal dose errors in MRgFUS treatment
Physica Medica, 2014ExAblate 2000 MRgFUS system (InSightec) installed in Ospedale Maggiore Niguarda Ca' Granda (Milano, Italy) is currently used to treat uterine fibroids. Through the magnetic resonance thermometry (PRF method), it is possible to monitor the temperature in the target in real-time and compute the treated region calculating the thermal dose.

Experimental errors in predictions of thermal hazards
Plant/Operations Progress, 1991AbstractPredictions of critical conditions for thermal runaways are generally based on heat balance models using experimentally generated heat and kinetic data. The accuracy of the predictions depends on the fit of the models and the quality of the thermal data. The relative importance of these factors to the calculated critical reaction conditions are

Error Analysis in Thermal Purity Determinations
1980We studied by simulation and experimentaly the deviations occuring at purity determinations. We propose a method for the proper choice of range for evaluation. The continuous and stepwise measuring techniques were compared.

Thermally-induced soft errors in nanoscale CMOS circuits
2007 IEEE International Symposium on Nanoscale Architectures, 2007Electrical noise will play an increasingly critical role in future nanoscale CMOS circuit operation character ized by lower supply voltages VDD and smaller device sizes. Both of these downscaling approaches reduce the margin of immunity to thermal noise, alpha particle strikes, and threshold voltage variations.
