Thermal expansion of a protein
Biochemistry, 1987The thermal expansion of a protein, metmyoglobin, was investigated by analysis of the refined X-ray crystal structures at 80 and 255-300 K. On heating from 80 to 300 K, the volume occupied by myoglobin increases by approximately 3%. The linear thermal expansion coefficient is estimated to be 115 X 10(-6) K-1.

Thermal expansion of skutterudites
Journal of Applied Physics, 2010The current paper gives an overview of the newly obtained thermal expansion coefficients of skutterudites as well as those so far available in literature. Thermal expansion was determined for CoSb3, Pt4Sn4.4Sb7.6, for As- and Ge-based skutterudites as well as for various high-ZT skutterudites (micro- and nanostructured) with didymium (DD) and ...

Thermal Expansion of Thermally Sprayed Coatings
International Thermal Spray Conference, 1998Abstract The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of a NiCoCrAlY coating was investigated in this work. The CTE was inferred from the measured length variations of coated prismatic symmetric specimens (i.e. having the coating on two opposite surfaces) at various temperature increments.

Thermal Expansion and Thermal Expansion Anisotropy of SiC Polytypes
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1987The principal axial coefficients of thermal expansion for the (3C), (4H), and (6H) polytypes of SiC are considered to identify the structural role of the stacking layer sequence as it affects the thermal expansion. A general equation based on the fractions of cubic and hexagonal layer stacking is developed that expresses the principal axial thermal ...

THE measurements of the thermal expansion of diamond made by Dembowska, which according to $Gr\"{u}neisen$1 appeared to support his well-known formula connecting the specific heat and thermal expansion coefficient of simple solids, covered only a rather small range of temperature.
