Magnetothermoelectric transport in modulated and unmodulated graphene
We draw motivation from recent experimental studies and present a comprehensive study of magnetothermoelectric transport in a graphene monolayer within the linear response regime. We employ the modified Kubo formalism developed for thermal transport in a

Heating of Micro-protrusions in Accelerating Structures
The thermal and field emission of electrons from protrusions on metal surfaces is a possible limiting factor on the performance and operation of high-gradient room temperature accelerator structures.

ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

Spheroidal nanoparticles as thermal near-field sensors
We suggest to exploit the shape-dependence of the near-field heat transfer for nanoscale thermal imaging. By utilizing strongly prolate or oblate nanoparticles as sensors one can assess individual components of the correlation tensors characterizing the ...

Multitip Near-Field Scanning Thermal Microscopy [PDF]
A theory is presented to describe the heat-flux radiated in near-field regime by a set of interacting nanoemitters held at different temperatures in vacuum or above a solid surface. We show that this thermal energy can be focused and even amplified in spots that are much smaller than those obtained with a single thermal source.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Hard Thermal Loops in Chiral Perturbation Theory [PDF]
It is shown how the hard thermal loop approximation can be used in chiral perturbation theory to study some thermal properties of Goldstone bosons. Hard thermal effects are first studied in the non-linear sigma model.

Euclidean thermal spinor Green's function in the spacetime of a straight cosmic string
Within the framework of the quantum field theory at finite temperature on a conical space, we determine the Euclidean thermal spinor Green's function for a massless spinor field.
