Modelling and monitoring of resin transfer moulding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Modelling and monitoring tools appropriate for the resin transfer moulding composites manufacturing route were developed in this study. A simulation of the curing stage of the process based on a finite elements solution of the non-linear heat ...

Ultrasensitive Anti‐Stokes Luminescence Thermometry in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a highly sensitive nanothermometer using anti‐Stokes photoluminescence, also known as photoluminescence upconversion (UPL), in monolayer tungsten disulfide. A strong resonantly enhanced UPL is observed, confirming the central role of optical phonons in the PL upconversion mechanism.

Landsat Next current design for geological remote sensing: VNIR-SWIR-TIR data continuity and new opportunities

open access: yesScience of Remote Sensing
Landsat Next, the proposed mission in NASA's Landsat program planned for 2031, is designed to extend the legacy of Landsat 8–9 and Sentinel-2 in the visible-near and shortwave infrared and to introduce operational thermal infrared capabilities comparable

Thermal Design for Infrared Sensor Pixel Operated at Atmospheric Pressure

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Sensors and Micromachines, 2012
This paper discusses the effect of thermal conduction through the air on the sensitivity of thermal infrared detectors fabricated in a bulk micro-machining process from the device's front side. ANSYS analysis shows that the thermal conduction from the edge of the freestanding detector structure to the heat sink (Si substrate) considerably impacts the ...

Large Transverse Thermoelectric Effect in Weyl Semimetal TaIrTe4 Engineered for Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This experimental work shows that the anomalous scanning photocurrent response patterns of the Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4${\rm TaIrTe}_4$ under visible and long‐wave infrared illumination are due to a large transverse thermoelectric response of the material.

Micromachined Pyroelectric Probe for Non-Contact Thermal Diagnostic Systems

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2013
This paper describes a micro cantilever integrated with a pyroelectric infrared detector for non-contact scanning thermal microscopy (SThM). Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) was deposited on the cantilever tip with a sol-gel method as a pyroelectric sensor.

Ionic Transportation Induced Electric Field Modulation in Porous Ecoflex/PTFE with Confined Liquid for High‐Performance Contact Electrification Power Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Porous Ecoflex/PTFE composite with encapsulated liquid generates electricity through ionic migration induced by dynamic pore deformation, creating non‐uniform electric fields that drive charge induction on electrodes. This mechanism enhances charge transfer and ensures stable contact electrification performance, achieving 12 V and 4 nC with consistent ...

Polarity‐Reversible Photoresponse–Driven Autonomous Wavelength Discrimination in Quantum Dot–Tellurium Thin‐Film Photodetectors via Engineered Energy‐Band Alignment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quantum dot–tellurium thin‐film photodetector autonomously discriminates visible and infrared wavelengths through polarity‐reversible photoresponses. Engineered carrier separation and gain modulation enable filter‐free multispectral sensing within a single‐device architecture.

Infrared Thermography Approach for Effective Shielding Area of Field Smoke Based on Background Subtraction and Transmittance Interpolation

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Effective shielding area is a crucial indicator for the evaluation of the infrared smoke-obscuring effectiveness on the battlefield. The conventional methods for assessing the shielding area of the smoke screen are time-consuming and labor intensive, in ...
