Powering Nanocrystal‐Based Heat Engines With Light‐Emitting Metasurfaces That Influence Their Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

Thin quartz resonators as a detector element for thermal infrared sensors

open access: yesJournal of Sensors and Sensor Systems
Abstract. This work describes the manufacturing technology and packaging of a single-crystal quartz sensor with a thickness of 5 µm. The temperature dependence of the resonance frequency of quartz resonators can be used for thermal radiation sensors with a high signal-to-noise ratio.

Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

Region-Based Self-Segmentation Guided Diffusion Model for Thermal Infrared to Pseudo-Color Visible Light Image Conversion

open access: yesIEEE Access
Unlike traditional visible light cameras, thermal infrared cameras can be used to conduct clear reconnaissance and observations during both day and night. However, because of the imaging principle of thermal infrared cameras, thermal infrared images lack

Pull‐and‐Push Nanotherapeutic Hydrogels: Scavenging Inflammatory Triggers While Driving Tissue Regeneration in Burn Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A nanounit‐assembled hydrogel employing a “pull‐and‐push” strategy simultaneously scavenges pro‐inflammatory cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and delivers regenerative therapeutics in response to burn‐induced hyperthermia. By repolarizing macrophages and promoting angiogenesis, this multifunctional platform accelerates burn wound healing, offering a blueprint for

P5.4 - Thermal pattern generation for infrared deflectometry

open access: yes, 2013
S.785-790Operating in the visible spectrum, the method of deflectometry provides reliable surface-slope measurements. We present the extension of the method to the thermal infrared (IR) spectrum, thus enabling the deflectometric inspection of rough ...

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Reproducing kernel hilbert space based single infrared image super resolution

open access: yes, 2016
The spatial resolution of Infrared (IR) images is limited by lens optical diffraction, sensor array pitch size and pixel dimension. In this work, a robust model is proposed to reconstruct high resolution infrared image via a single low resolution ...
