THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF DIABATIC CYCLIC REGENERATORS
Numerical Heat Transfer, Part A: Applications, 1986Mathematical models describing the operation of diabatic regenerators have been derived and solved numerically using finite-difference schemes for the prediction of system thermal performance. The present formulations include the effects of radial conduction and storage of heat in the regenerator walls as well as heat loss, which can be quite important

Thermal Performance Of A Pcm Thermal Storage Unit
2008The thermal performance of a PCM thermal storage unit (TSU) is studied numerically and experimentally. The TSU under analysis consists of several flat slabs of phase change material (PCM) with melting temperature of-26.7 °C. Liquid heat transfer fluid (HTF) passes between the slabs to charge and discharge the storage unit.

Thermal Performance of the GLAST LAT Tracker
Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2006The results of a thermal vacuum test on the Engineering Model Tower of the GLAST LAT Tracker and the performance expected for silicon detectors as a function of operating temperatures in the mission environment are presented. The tower thermal properties have been studied in the vacuum environment in order to determine the heat distribution in the ...

Assessing cement plant thermal performance
2016 IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Industry Technical Conference, 2016Energy consumption is one of the largest cost components in the production of Portland cement. Energy is consumed through the fuel required to make the cement, as well as the electricity consumed to operate the manufacturing equipment. This paper discusses the fuel requirements for driving the chemical processes are the starting point for the ...

Marathon Performance in Thermally Stressing Conditions
Sports Medicine, 2007It is generally appreciated that warm weather negatively affects marathon running performance. This brief review summarises the historical literature on this topic and recent work that our laboratory has performed to quantify the impact of weather on marathon running performance.

Thermal performance challenges for rapid thermal processing
11th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Thermal Processing of Semiconductors. RTP 2003, 2004As devices scale to smaller dimensions, the capabilities of rapid thermal processing (RTP) equipment are continually challenged. Thermal performance challenges in the areas of advanced silicidation, ultrashallow junction formation, and process control are discussed.

On the thermal and ventilation performance of composite walls
Energy and Buildings, 2007Abstract Thermal and ventilation performance is studied in composite walls of traditional wood frame single houses. Equations for heat transfer by conduction, natural convection and radiation are solved using analytical–numerical method. For a standard composite wall, parameters controlling thermal and ventilation performance of composite walls, i.e.

The Thermal Performance of Hexacyanoferrates
2006Ion exchange resins are used in the nuclear industry to trap and remove radioactive caesium from power station spent fuel cooling ponds. Natural zeolites such as clinoptilolite, chabazite and mordenite including other organic ion exchanges such as sodium titantates, titanosilicates and hexacyanoferrates have been extensively studied for use in the ...
