Optimal Control of Thermal Power Plants

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1989
Application of optimal control system to thermal power plants is introduced. The suggested system consists of the conventional PID controllers and the control computer. It has been successfully applied to five supercritical power plants in Kyushu Electric Power Company (Total output 2,700 MW) since 1978.

SOLAR THERMAL POWER PLANTS

The European Physical Journal Special Topics, 2009
The solar thermal power plant technology, the opportunities it presents and the developments in the market are outlined. The focus is on the technology of parabolic trough power plants, a proven technology for solar power generation on a large scale. In a parabolic trough power plant, trough-shaped mirrors concentrate the solar irradiation onto a pipe ...

Thermal Power Plants in Turkey

Energy Sources, 2003
The objective of this article is to investigate the status of thermal power plants (TPPs) in Turkey as of the end of 2000. Thermal resources meet approximately 60% of Turkey’s total installed capacity for electric power generation, while 75% of total electricity is generated from TPPs.

Experimental thermal behavior of a power plant reheater

Energy, 2004
Abstract The process conditions of power plant components subjected to high pressures and temperatures are essential to determine their remaining life, availability and efficiency. It is, therefore, expedient to pay special attention to critical components, such as superheater and reheater heat exchangers, headers, and main and reheated steam lines ...

Energetic comparison of solar thermal power plants

Solar Energy Materials, 1991
Abstract The power production technologies based on the central receiver (tower), parabolic trough and the parabolic dish/Stirling concept are compared on the level of annually produced electric energy by means of the following tools: - input/output characteristics on daily basis; - annual system and subsystem efficiencies; - diurnal plant
